In fall 2007 Temple University was the only area university ranked among top entrepreneurship programs for undergraduates in the United States by three separate ranking entities: Fortune Small Business magazine, Entrepreneur magazine with the Princeton Review, and U.S. News & World Report. Temple’s graduate entrepreneurship programs also ranked high.Temple University was ranked eighth for undergraduate programs and 12th for graduate programs by Entrepreneur magazine and the Princeton Review following a survey of more than 900 schools across the United States. Part of the success of the school is attributable to the work of its student population. Maria Murane - Author of 'Perfect on Paper'

Maria Murnane had a successful career in public relations before admitting to herself that she wasn't happy. Knowing she would be miserable if she stayed on the career path she was on, she quit and went to Argentina for what was supposed to be a two-week solo trip before facing real life again. Instead, she ended up living in Buenos Aires for a year, playing semi-professional soccer for one of the most famous clubs in the world (River Plate), and doing what she had always dreamed about, which was to write a humorous novel based on her experiences as a single, professional woman in San Francisco.

The book, Perfect on Paper, was initially turned down by several major publishing houses, so Maria self-published and implemented a grass-roots marketing campaign with the help of her eager assistant (aka her dad). Fan and critical reaction was enormously positive, and the award-winning book eventually attracted the attention of Amazon, which offered Maria a publishing contract as one of the debut novels of its new AmazonEncore publishing imprint. The book was released last month with a new cover, and Maria has also launched a line of greeting cards and t-shirts related to the book. (www.honeynote.com)

Maria was a Regents' and Chancellor's Scholar at UC Berkeley, where she graduated with high honors in English and Spanish. She also received a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University.
